President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden visited privately with the families of the 49 people killed in the Pulse nightclub massacre at the Amway Center on Thursday, June 16th, 2016. Both the President and Vice President stopped to pay respects at the temporary memorial in front of the Dr. Philips Performing Art Center, each placing a bouquet of 49 white roses before addressing the press.

“These families could be our families. In fact, they are our families, they are part of the American family. Today the Vice President and I told them on behalf of the American people that our hearts are broken too and that we stand with you. We are here for you and that we are remembering those who you loved so deeply,” President Obama told Reporters.
