The University of Central Florida announced in a news release that CNN political commentator Marc Lamont Hill will be the keynote speaker at a UCF event in January.
Hill will speak at the January 30 Joseph C. Andrews Mentoring Celebration breakfast in the Pegasus Ballroom in the Student Union.
“HIs speech will focus on how culture, education, community involvement and mentoring intersect,” UCF said in the release.
The event is open to the public although tickets will be required to gain admittance to the event. Tickets may be purchased for $35 through and reservations can be made by emailing DeLaine. Priest@ucf.edu by January 13.
“Five UCF students will be recognized for their mentorship roles in the community with $2,000 worth of scholarships; more than 200 students were nominated for these scholarships that are designed to recognize the accomplishments of mentoring programs at UCF,” the university has stated.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. Money raised will go toward scholarships and annual celebration breakfasts.
