UCFPD has confirmed a series of car break-ins took place on campus Monday night, specifically greek row.
At least 30 vehicles near the Lake Claire apartment and Greek Row houses were broken into, according to the UCFPD press release.
Police also found tools that they believe the suspects used to break into the vehicles, the tools also match the description of several other crimes committed in the central Florida area, the press release stated.
The break-ins were brought to the police’s attention after a good samaritan reported the suspicious activity at around 2:50 a.m., the press release stated.
The suspects then fled from the UCFPD in a car that was reported stolen, before crashing that vehicle near Rouse Road and fleeing the scene, the release stated.
UCFPD has no suspects as of now.
UCFPD will have an officer stationed at Lake Claire to take reports throughout the day. UCFPD encourages anyone with information to contact 407-823-5555.
