Mountain West Commissioner Craig Thompson announced Wednesday the conference will hire UCF Athletic’s Andy Seeley as the Associate Commissioner of External Communications.
Seeley joined UCF Athletics in 2012 as Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications and was promoted to Associate Director of Athletics for Strategic Communications in 2016.
In his new role, Seeley will “develop and implement strategies to ensure the continued success of the league, help in the creation and execution of the MW brand campaign and related marketing efforts and provide day-to-day direction to strategic communications, digital/social media and the Mountain West Network,” the Mountain West said.
“I would like to thank Commissioner Thompson and Deputy Commissioner Bret Gilliland for the opportunity to continue to raise the profile of this great Conference,” said Seeley. “I’m very excited to join the Mountain West and work with the great staff in the league office. As someone who spent time in the Conference when I was with Utah, I look forward to reconnecting and developing relationships with the membership. ”
Seeley also served as the President of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) while at UCF.
Seeley will be at the 2019 Air Force Reserve Mountain West Basketball Championships before officially beginning at the Mountain West on April 8.
