KnightNews.com is following major breaking news out of Miami, where UCF Knights football alum and Dolphins Pro Bowl receiver Brandon Marshall is in intensive care following a stab wound at the hands of his wife, EPSN.com is reporting.

Marshall had remained in the intensive care unit after surgery, sources told ESPN.

Michi Nogami-Marshall faces aggravated battery charges with a deadly weapon

KnightNews.com has confirmed Michi Nogami-Marshall, 26, was jailed Friday after investigators in Broward County charged her with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. ESPN reports the arrest related to the of stabbing her husband, citing a league source. Nogami-Marshall remained in jail Saturday.

Marshall was reportedly rushed to Broward General Hospital by car, where he faced surgery late Friday night for the stab wound to the stomach.

According to ESPN sources, no vital organs were pierced in the incident, and doctors have told him that Marshall will be OK in two to three weeks.

A statement has been released to media on behalf of the former UCF football star.

“This is a very difficult time for Brandon and family, thankfully he will make a full recovery,” Marshall’s agents, Kennard McGuire and Harvey Steinberg, said in a statement. “We simply ask that his privacy is respected.”
