While sideline reporting for the UCF vs. Miami Football game, Knightnews.com had a chance to get a few questions in with UCF Director of Athletics Keith Tribble, and freshmen guard for the Knight’s Basketball team, Marcus Jordan.

Tribble expressed how important it was for the Knights to come out strong when playing against a ranked opponent on the national stage.

UCF lost 27-7, but was still in the game right up to the fourth quarter, when the Hurricanes frankly just became too much to handle. When asked whether or not UCF was looking into switching over from Conference USA into the Big East, Tribble simply replied that our main goal as a program right now is to win Conference USA.

Marcus Jordan was taking in the sights and sounds of Bright House Stadium before kickoff and confessed to knightnews.com that the weather was a little chilly for him. Jordan, a Chicago native, answered questions about adjusting to UCF, basketball practice, and his teammates.

The freshmen guard exclaimed the Knights’ objective this season is to take Conference USA. It won’t be an easy task though, the team is coming off a rough 09 season in which the Knights were 17-14 with a 6th place finish in Conference USA play.

Last year, the Knights were the 4th youngest NCAA Division I Basketball team in the country, and now with no Jermaine Taylor on the team, the Knights will look for a more collective effort when looking to score. Players to look out for this season include freshmen Keith Clanton, junior A.J. Tyler, sophomore AJ Rompza, junior Taylor Young, and redshirt freshmen Dave Diakite.

The Knights open the season at home on Friday, November 13 versus University of Massachusetts.
