The UCF Knights sent the seniors out in style at senior day in Bright House Networks Stadium with a 49-0 victory over the visiting Tulane Green Wave. The 13 seniors made their mark on the team, but were really able to watch the underclassmen shine as the Knights continue their quest towards the third bowl game in program history.

Brynn Harvey sprinted down the field on UCF’s fourth play of the game en route to a 50 yard touchdown and the Knights never looked back. The sophomore runner finished with 129 yards on the ground, 107 of which came in the first quarter, and added three touchdowns. Backup running back Jonathan Davis chipped in 81 yards and a touchdown as the Knights out-rushed their opponents by a mind-boggling total of 264 to negative 30.

Senior quarterback Brett Hodges also shined finishing 9-18 with 234 and two touchdowns, both thrown to Kamar Aiken. The Knights were efficient all game converting on 9 of 14 third downs to sustain drives. The entire offense played well as they were given multiple opportunities with a short field due to one of the stingiest performances ever put on by a UCF defense.

The defense harassed the Green Wave all day and held Tulane to 50 yards on 51 plays. The Knight defenders sacked Tulane quarterback Ryan Griffin three times and forced Tulane into five turnovers, three of which came during the third quarter. Those turnovers keyed a third quarter that saw the Knights score 28 points for the first time since 2007 against Memphis.

UCF was able to overcome two early mistakes inside their opponents ten yard line. Brett Hodges was unable to run in a touchdown on fourth down in the first quarter, and threw an interception in the second. The Knights overcame these early mental mistakes and outgained Tulane by 454 yards.

The UCF seniors were honored in a pregame ceremony celebrating the accomplished they achieved in the program over their tenure. Corey Hogue thanked the fans during the post game press conference for their support over his five year tenure.
