UCF students will get a chance to see Marco A. Davis, deputy director for the White House Initiative on Education Excellence for Hispanics, speak at UCF.

Davis will be at UCF on Monday, Sept. 15 from noon to 2 p.m. in the Pegasus Ballroom to kick off Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event is free and open to the public.

Davis was appointed to the position in January 2012 to help the Obama administration with improving academic achievements of the nation’s hispanic students.

The Hispanic American Student Association (HASA) is hosting the event.
