The UCF Knights (5-2, 2-1 AAC) will take on the Temple Owls (5-2, 2-1 AAC) at Lincoln Financial Field at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The conference matchup is a must-win for the Knights if they wish to steady their ship toward a third consecutive AAC championship.
The Owls, who share an equal record and have yet to lose at home, are also looking to keep their championship hopes above water after suffering a loss last week to a 7 – 0 SMU Mustangs.
The Knights will need to limit turnovers and penalties, as well as capitalize in the red zone if they are going to find success on the road.
UCF freshman quarterback Dillon Gabriel has thrown five interceptions this season — all while on the road against Cincinnati and Pitt, their only two losses this season.
The Owls are no slouches against ranked teams. Temple has defeated the previously ranked No. 21 Maryland and previously ranked No. 23 Memphis while also holding teams to less than 28 points in
Temple will be led by quarterback Anthony Russo. The 6-foot-4 junior has racked up 1,674 passing yards with 14 touchdowns and only six interceptions. He is the No. 5 ranked quarterback in the AAC.
