The L.A- based band Stone Temple Pilots, or more commonly referred as STP, played last night to a diverse audience of all ages at the UCF Arena, with opening act Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. The current tour is in support of their new self-titled album, which is their sixth studio album after a five-year hiatus and a two-year reboot.

STP delivered an amazing performance along with their visually stunning backdrop of lights, that one almost forgets of their checkered past, those who are old enough to remember it anyway. Those that did remember still cheered throughout STP classics such as “Wicked Garden”, “Plush”, and “Interstate Love Song.”

However, as strong as their live performance was, it would seem STP is no longer as engraved into the psyche of today’s listeners as they once were in the mid-nineties through the early 2000’s. It would have seemed as if the arena were a little too grandioso of a feat for them to conquer, judging by the vast amount of open seating and space in the arena, compared to the sell-out concerts in their glory days.

No matter, it was still an amazing show and one not to be missed.
