The Okeechobee Music and Arts Festival has just released the 2016 musical lineup as well as ticket prices.
This festival is set to take place the weekend just before spring break, March 4 through 6, and the gates open at noon March 3 for campers who want to cozy into their home away from home for the next few days.
This inaugural festival was created in hopes of finally putting Okeechobee on the map, comparably to Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and China’s STORM Electronic Music Festival, as it is said to be “Florida’s largest camping festival.”
Okeechobee music and Arts Festival will take place at Florida’s Sunshine Grove, which features well over 800 open acres of pure grasslands, tropical forests, translucent lakes, and a view of the sky with an insurmountable number of stars. If that isn’t enough to peak your interest, festival attractions are said to expect wooded VIP camping areas, a white-sand lakeside-swimming beach and bar area to kick back and relax, and a wide array of local art and food installations.
Mumford & Sons, Kendrick Lamar and Skrillex have been announced at the top of Okeechobee’s first wave artist lineup. As these three headliners could not be any more different, the same goes for the rest of the line up, which includes: Grace Potter, Big Gigantic, Portugal. The man, Dr. Dog, Lotus, Youth Lagoon, X Ambassadors, and many more. Similar to that of Bonnaroo’s SuperJam, Okeechobee presents “PoWow! A Superstar Mashup with Special Guests.” As this is only the first tier that has been announced, additional major and local artists alike will be announced in weeks to come. The festival is anticipating a total of 80 bands with varying genres as indie rock, electronic, folk rock, hip-hip/rap, and classic rock genres.
Three-day GA passes were released to the public today at 10:00am and are currently available for purchase on http://okeechobeefest.com. These passes include parking, tent camping and access to all three days of the festival. Eternal Sunshine VIP Experience Passes are also for sale, which include extra perks as access to VIP viewing areas at all stages, exclusive express entrance, a Sanctuary Lounge featuring shaded areas well endowed with comfy and cozy furniture and much, much more!
