III Points Festival Announces First Ever Compilation

III Points has partnered with 10K Islands in Little Haiti to present their first ever compilation project, Swerving Serpents Vol.1. A community-wide music project aiming to connect (thoughts, people, ideas, communities), the compilation was created to represent a submerged music scene.  Miami’s local artists are often under represented and lacking the platform to connect. This project, led by III Points and 10K Islands, aims to bring these sonic gems together and raise their sounds to the surface and into the light. III Points mission is to elevate our Miami, and this is just another way in engaging our music scene.

Collectively we have chosen nine locals from different worlds and genres, and paired them up in 10K Islands Little Haiti studio to get creative. All of the selected artists are playing III Points Festival in October. The artists were given 48 hours in a state of the art music studio and total creative freedom. What comes from these collaborations is something unexpectedly rare and weirdly cohesive. With a proper mix and master from 10K Islands, both teams hope to create a compilation that sparks the collaborative spirit of Miami’s diverse talent. NICK LEÓN
At 23 years old, South Florida electronic and hip hop producer Nick León is already a decade into his production career, having been given production software by his older brother at the age of 12. Highly focused on textural elements as well as deeply buried melodies & the sounds of everyday life, León’s signature brand of psychedelic production has set him apart from the pack and earned him positive reviews in The Fader & XLR8R among others, along with coveted spots on Miami’s III Points festival in 2015 & 2016.  With production credits for Denzel Curry, The Underachievers, Twelve’Len and a slew of other artists already under his belt, Nick released his full length debutProfecía on Low End Theory earlier this spring.  You can catch Nick León this Friday alongside Cashmere Cat at Red Bull Sound Select’s 3 Days in Miami or live at III Points in October.

POORGRRRL
Appearing for the first time on Instagram in 2014, POORGRRRL is the culmination of the Miami based artist Tara Long’s worst dreams and best nightmares.  As an online identity or IRL, POORGRRRL challenges viewers and listeners with convoluted lyrics and a lo-fi “fuck it” demeanor.  She presents an alternative personality to pop culture, appropriating it where she must.  She is on a quest to save Miami, her birthplace and home, from it’s own reputation, before it goes underwater.  Her debut EP, “PITIPARTI”, released via DJ Tennis’ Parachute Records in July 2016 is a collection of her work so far, preceding a full-length set for release in the near future.
