Coach Frost opened up this Monday’s press conference by highlighting the team’s need to stay prepared, especially following the recent medical incident involving Offensive Line Coach Shawn Clark. In terms of strategy, Frost stated that the team would be focusing on fundamentals during their upcoming practices, emphasizing that they must earn everything this season. Frost expressed confidence saying that they are “pumped and ready” to face North Carolina.

While a win would put them at 3-0, Frost made clear that the team is treating it as just “another game,” acknowledging that “every week it’s going to be a battle.” He also noted that while the team has shown promise, they have lacked consistency, wanting to see improved technique and fundamentals in the upcoming game against Belichick’s Tar Heels. Frost acknowledged the potential challenges posed by North Carolina’s defense, describing them as “big, physical, and multiple” with “really smart guys.” He’s ready to put in the work to face this challenge. On offense, he plans to rely heavily on the run game, getting the ball to Montgomery as much as they can. He currently has 29 carries and 114 rushing yards this season, along with 4 receptions with 103 receiving yards.

Frost worked under Belichick in the NFL when he was drafted by the New York Jets. Under Bill, Frost went from being a quarterback to a Safety. Belichick had some thoughts on Frost praising how he was able to adapt to these changes, and play 3 sides of the ball. When asked about player availability, Frost confirmed that Jalen Williams (thumb injury) would be ready to play against North Carolina. Regarding the quarterback position, he noted that Cam Fancher has started practicing but is not yet fully healthy. Frost chose not to disclose who would be the starting quarterback moving forward.

While Frost and Belichick faced each other in NFL matches, this Saturday will be the first time UCF and UNC play each other on the football field.
