A UCF grad and former Knight News reporter was shot and killed tonight while working as a reporter at News 13.
Dylan Lyons, 24, was identified as the victim by his sister and fiancé on social media, through a Go Fund Me page to cover funeral expenses.
The UCF grad was one of two members of a News 13 crew shot while covering a homicide scene in Orange County’s Pine Hills neighborhood, Orange County Sheriff John Mina announced at a press conference Wednesday evening.
One of the News 13 journalists died from the shooting, Mina said, adding that both a reporter and photographer were shot.
“It’s hard to know if he was targeting this news crew,” Mina said. “That’s all part of our investigation.”
