The Osceola Magic continue their undefeated run and improve to 3-0, as they scrape a win against the Mexico City Capitanes on Thursday afternoon with the score of 117-111.

It was a game that went back and forth, with 24 lead changes, but in the fourth quarter, Phillip Wheeler took over for the Magic. He scored 8 points in the quarter, becoming a crucial part of the Magic’s win.

The ball wasn’t going in for us in the first three quarters… We cannot let that affect [our] ability to win the game. We turned up on the glass, turned up our defense, and eventually made a couple of shots. Phillip Wheeler hit big shots… Once we built a little bit of a lead, we were able to hit our free throws and hang on.” Osceola Magic Head Coach, Dylan Murphy, said.

Colin Castleton continues his dominant run to start the season, finishing the day with 32 points, shooting 10-of-11 from the field. He led both teams in scoring.

Osceola’s Jamal Cain, who’s on a two-way contract with the Orlando Magic, recorded his first double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

For the visiting Capitanes, Reynan dos Santos scored 23 points coming off the bench, followed by RJ Melendez, who scored 21 and tallied a team-high 6 rebounds.

The Magic will face the Birmingham Squadron in their first of two games this weekend on Friday, November 14th, at Osceola Heritage Park for Military Appreciation Night.
