Football is back in the City Beautiful, but not at the Bounce House. Inter&Co Stadium would be the site for the return of pro football in Orlando, as the UFL’s Orlando Storm defeated the Columbus Aviators with the final score of 23-16.

A historical night in Orlando had to have a historic start. On the first play of the game, the Aviators fumbled the kickoff return, and the Storm gained possession.

Two plays later, running back Jashaun Corbin would make history and score the first touchdown in franchise history. Columbus would tie the game after scoring two field goals, but most of the half would remain tied as defensive efforts would increase.

Cornerback Lamar Jackson forced a pass breakup on fourth down, giving the Storm possession. They would have enough time to squeeze in a 55-yard field goal, giving them a 9-6 lead heading into halftime.

The inauguration festivities continued as DJ Khaled performed at halftime for everyone in attendance at Inter&Co Stadium, blending his biggest hits with songs that are currently trending.

Orlando had possession returning from halftime, and they wasted no time as they quickly drove down 77 yards. This drive culminated in Corbin scoring his second touchdown of the night.

The Aviators would not do anything on their first drive of the half and would return the ball right to the Storm. Orlando’s Elijah Badger would take it the distance, but it would be called back for an illegal block to the back.

Receiver Chris Rowland, the same person responsible for the block to the back, would score, making up for his mistake, and increasing the Storm’s lead.

Columbus kicker Ryan Coe would score his third field goal of the night, but it seemed like the lights were fading for the Aviators as Orlando would run out the remainder of the clock.

The Storm win their home opener and debut in the UFL with the final score of 23-16. They will return to Inter&Co Stadium next Saturday to face the Louisville Kings.
