Long snappers in football go under the radar; however, if it weren’t for their skills, field goals and punts could go very poorly. Alex Ward is a current NFL long snapper and was once a UCF Knight.
Alex Ward was a long snapper for the UCF Knights from 2017 to 2022, making him a part of the undefeated 2017 UCF team. He was a finalist for the Patrick Mannelly Award, a college award given to the best long snapper, for both of his last two seasons.
Alex Ward would then go on to the NFL draft, where he would be picked up in 2023 as an undrafted free agent by the Los Angeles Rams. He has played 30 games and counting with the LA Rams.
Alex Ward continues to charge on and shine on the field, just as he once did as a UCF Knight.
