The Chick-fil-A located near the Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) has permanently closed after 5 years. Taking its place will be a Smalls Sliders, to open Fall 2026.
UCF Dining Services has updated their website to display a new restaurant that will replace the Chick-Fil-A on Gemini Boulevard. Smalls Sliders is a national franchise focused on cheeseburger sliders, and this location will be their 8th restaurant in Florida. UCF Dining Services expects for the new establishment to open during the fall semester.
The student workers of the now defunct Chick-Fil-A have not been let go, according to a representative from UCF Dining Services. They now have the option to work at other UCF Dining Services affiliated restaurants, or the upcoming Smalls Sliders in the fall.
With the closing of the RWC Chick-Fil-A, the Chick-Fil-A located within the John T. Washington Center will now be the only Chick-Fil-A restaurant located on UCF campus.
