The UCF women’s soccer team played Memphis in the Conference-USA Championship game this past Sunday. The game was scoreless until Melissa Smith, #17 of Memphis, tapped in a goal off of a free kick with 55 seconds left in the game, winning 1 to 0.
Even though Memphis played a great game and beat UCF, there’s still hope for the women’s soccer team in the NCAA Tournament. UCF (14-4-3) has earned a No. 4 seed in the tournament, playing against Fresno State (9-8-5) this Thursday in the first round at UCLA. If they win, they will play the winner of the UCLA vs. BYU game on Saturday.
