The University of Central Florida remained at No. 12 and No. 14 in the Coaches Poll and AP Top 25 after defeating conference foe UConn 49-24 at home.

The Knights have been on an upward track after surprising the college football scene with an undefeated turnaround following a 0-12 and 6-7 season, respectively. Scott Frost has brought UCF its first 9-0 start in school history as well as regular 500+ and 600+ yard games. QB McKenzie Milton’s stellar season performance has added a number of award nominations alongside Shaquem Griffin at linebacker.

While Frost will turn away from speculation and hot topics – citing the team’s focus on ‘only what’s ahead of them’ in terms of the next game – local news, passing conversation on national networks, and even UCF Athletic Director Danny White have expressed concern with UCF’s current standing in the College Football Playoff rankings. No one expects the Knights to be in the top ten, but given “comparable” season resumes, such as No. 8 Wisconsin, the argument is that the Knights should at least move to the top fifteen; top ten if they finish the season and conference championship undefeated, considering there are several one and two loss teams ahead of the Knights.
