PHILADELPHIA — Only leading by seven points going into halftime, the UCF Knights took to Lincoln Financial Field to start the second half and scored 35 unanswered points, defeating the Temple Owls 63-21 in Philadelphia on Saturday night.

After falling to the two out-of-state teams the Knights’ played earlier this season — and heading into the matchup against Temple with the same overall record (previously 5-2, 2-1 AAC) — the victory gives the recently doubted Knights a shot at the American Athletic Conference Championship game.

UCF redshirt junior defensive back Aaron Robinson intercepted two balls in the third quarter, helping the Knights’ offense get back on the field and score 28 of the 35 unanswered points in the third quarter alone.

The Knights improved to 6-2 on the season and 3-1 in conference play with the victory, making the team bowl-eligible.
