Dean told deputies he and a friend were grabbing something to drink at the BP gas station just north of Semoran and University Blvd., when his friend suggested they check out the Vortex parked just to their south.

When Dean and his friend, who deputies know only as Carlton, got to the Vortex they started chatting with Glover. When the topic turned to religion, that’s when deputies say Glover suddenly got enraged.

Without any provocation, Dean said Glover “reached out and began choking him with his bare hands,” according to the police report.

Dean said Glovers’ grip was so tight, he couldn’t breathe or even yell for help. He kicked and screamed and pulled on Glovers’ hands to try and free himself. He began to black out and told deputies “he was in fear for his life and thought he was going to die.”

Dean broke free and ran back to the BP station and called deputies, who found the Vortex Amazing driving down University Blvd.toward UCF. Glover was pulled over, put in the patrol car, and driven to the victim who said he was 100 percent sure that was who attacked him.

When the deputy interviewed Dean, he noticed red marks on his face and neck. The deputy said Dean was in such bad shape, he had to help him write his written statement because he was having trouble seeing.

On the Vortex Amazing facebook fan page, there is no indication of Glovers’ arrest, although on Tuesday, Tracee Tressler Andrews did post the following message:

“Hello Vortex Amazing Fans! The Vortex is temporarily out of service. We will try to have it up and running this Friday or Saturday night. No promises though. Will let you know as soon as possible. Please leave any question, comments, or concerns. Thank you!”
