Simple mistakes failing to properly redact documents is a frequent occurrence even though redaction is a critical process. These mistakes usually have serious ramifications which raises questions as to whether organizations don’t have sufficient review procedures in place or aren’t using the right tools to redact sensitive information.

The organization I currently work for has been redacting sensitive documents for a number of years and in that time have not had one redaction failure.

We use a tool called RapidRedact and it’s helped us to keep all sensitive information the way we like it; permanently removed and not mistakenly released for public viewing.

I guess if she looked like a chicken with her head cut off, you couldn’t really see her face when she reacted to the release of the unedited affidavit. Darn.

Christa should spend less time covering stuff up and more time stopping this crap to begin with.

She was running around that office like a chicken with her head cut off telling everyone not to comment or talk to the media. (A lot of good that did her… everyone thought it was worse than it was and it looked more like a Casey Anthony hearing than an SGA meeting… with TV cameras packing the entire room!)

Smart thinking UCF… way to embarrass our school

Caro: the word redact is the official term in the Florida Statutes for what the General Counsel’s office did. The reporter used the word redact rather than your genius synonyms because he was referring to a very specific legal action. (Or in this case, illegal action.) However, I wish people would use the word “bowdlerize” more often.

I also wish I could have seen Christa’s face when she saw the unredacted affidavit on here. Anyone got a picture?

If it’s really illegal for UCF to release that name, why doesn’t Pozin sue? Why doesn’t he press charges? Hold it as collateral against UCF before his conduct hearing we all know is coming?

Is someone going to be punished?

Are they losing federal funding? Will UCF be fined? What will this mistake cost UCF students paying more tuition than ever before?

NO. NOTHING HAPPENED. BECAUSE IT’S BS THAT UCF CLAIMED THEY CAN’T!

This just proves UCF LIED about not being able to release the names… just like they LIED about being too busy to release it on day one.

UCF LIES about small crap like this and they LIE about big stuff… LIKE ERECK PLANCHER’S DEATH!

They lied to the Sentinel. Lied to his family. Lied to the media. THEY LIED TO EVERYONE!

When will someone hold them accountable?

  • Caro says:

    Main Entry: redact
    Part of Speech: verb
    Definition: censor
    Synonyms: edit, expurgate,bowdlerize

stop using the word REDACT GEEZ
