Apologies to those who have been waiting for this week’s band, but good things come to those who wait- so I introduce My Dearest Friend.

MDF is a three-piece indie band with James Brinkle on guitar and vocals, UCF student Melissa Aurora on bass and Andrew Wiggins on drums. I have had the privilege to see My Dearest Friend sporadically for the past couple years, and to be honest I was never that impressed. Well, apparently sometime between the relentless practicing and countless gigs, MDF have refined their sound and earned recognition by headlining a few local shows.

My Dearest Friends is a hard band to lock down into a particular genre, which is a good thing. They play an eclectic mix of rock, country, and classic rock.

The video performance for this week is “November 16th ,” a bass heavy song that seems to have influences from bands such as Radiohead and Muse, which left the four-person crew wanting more. MDF have yet to record any of their music so it is difficult to say to listen to a certain single, but I would suggest watching them live. No better way to do this than to go to the DeLand Musicfest this Saturday, where they have secured a stage to play.
