With finals getting closer and closer, those hoping to find some peace and quiet have a limited options. The student union, at times, can be too loud; the library – too crowded; students’ rooms- too distracting.

With that in mind, SGA has started a new ‘Late Knight Study Space’ program, which is designed to give students a library-type setting to study, located within the UCF Arena complex.

Despite being located on the ground floor of the arena, concert and event noise should not affect students studying because the study space is insulated with special material to dampen the sounds, according to SGA PR Specialist Kayla Torpey.

The Study Space will be open from 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, through 9:00 p.m. Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, and provide a host of studying essentials, such as WiFi, scantrons and printing (limited to 20 pages a day). The facility will contain a large group study lounge, small group study rooms, quiet area and an area lounge.

The small private rooms will be available for reservation for study groups for two hour blocks with a valid UCF Student ID, which you will need to get into the Study Space all together, also.

“As students it is important we strive for academic excellence,” said facilities and project coordinator Gary Bruckner, who served as project manager for the All Knight Study space. “It’s always helpful when we have the tools to guide us there.”
