UCF documents stated, the pledge stated that he did not want to pursue criminal or student conduct action because he feared that certain members within the organization would come after him. He was receiving calls from members calling him a scumbag and that he got kicked out. He then told the callers that if they continued to contact him that he would report the harassment.

Another issue in the report centered around an off campus Halloween party and whether underage drinking occurred and whether it was a Sigma Chi event.

UC investigator said Sigma Chi also violated their by-laws by not notifying the UCF Office of Student Conduct of the hazing incident. Sigma Chi initiated members that did not meet the GPA requirement as well, which violates their organizations constitution and by-laws, according to UCF documents.

UCF’s Office of Student Conduct sent Sigma Chi a letter scheduling a meeting on Sept 10 to “discuss this report” and “inspect and review all information that likely could be presented at a hearing.”

UCF chose not to place the fraternity on emergency suspension prior to the conduct hearing.

Sigma Chi’s national office did not respond to a request for comment.
