Orlando denied in bid to host 2026 World Cup 

Orlando was left out of the list 16 to host the FIFA World cup in 2026. 

The U.S. cities selected in an official announcement made Thursday afternoon are as follows: 

Miami, New York, Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, Kansas City, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Monterrey, Mexico City, Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Guadalajara. 

The cities that join the city beautiful in being left off the list are as follows: 

Cincinnati, Denver, Nashville, Pasadena, California, Washington, D.C. and Edmonton. 

After soccer fans gathered at Camping world stadium to hear the official announcement by FIFA that Orlando would be passed over, Mayor Buddy Dyer said he was proud of the community’s commitment and effort to have the World Games come to Central Florida.
