UCF announced the kickoff time for four of its 2009 home games on Thursday in a press release from UCFAthletics.com.
UCF’s first two home games, Sept. 5 vs. Samford and Sept. 19 vs. Buffalo, will both start at 6 p.m. at Bright House Networks Stadium on UCF’s spacious Orlando campus. The Knights’ home Conference USA opener, Oct. 3 against Memphis, will start at 3:30 p.m. and serve as a highlight of the university’s annual Family Weekend, the release stated.
UCF will play host to Houston for Homecoming on Nov. 14 at a time that has not yet been announced as it is under consideration for broadcast on CBS College Sports through the C-USA office. If CBS College Sports elects to broadcast the game nationally, a decision it can make as late as Nov. 2, the game would kickoff at noon. If there is no national television, the Houston game will begin at 2 p.m. A week later, on Nov. 21, UCF will play host to Tulane for Senior Day at 2 p.m.
It had previously been announced that UCF’s home game against Miami on Oct. 17 would kick off at 7:30 p.m. on CBS College Sports and its Sunday, Nov. 1 home game against Marshall would begin at 8:15 p.m. on ESPN, according to the release.
Additionally, Southern Miss announced on Wednesday afternoon that the Knights’ game in Hattiesburg on Sept. 12 will kick off at 7 p.m. ET. UCF’s lone remaining unannounced road game time is the Nov. 7 game at Texas which will fall into the Big 12 Conference’s 12-day broadcast selection windows.
Of course, UCF football season really kicks off in August. The school will host the Countdown to Kickoff luncheon at the UCF Arena on Aug. 21. Table space has sold out but fans can still purchase newly-added sideline seating. Sunday, Aug. 23 is the team’s annual Fall FanFest, a free event at the stadium featuring an autograph session with the whole team. Fall practice begins on August 6.
