The CEO of the Orlando Magic, Alex Martins, has been appointed to serve on the UCF Board of Trustees.
Martins replaces former trustee member Meg Crofton, who resigned earlier this year. The Board of Governors of the State University System selected Martins to replace Crofton, and his appointment will run through Jan. 6, 2016, after confirmation by the Florida Senate.
Martins has been the Orlando Magic CEO since December 2011, and started working for the Orlando Magic as the director of media relations in 1989.
