UCF Athletics reports that UCF’s head volleyball coach, Todd Dagenais, was hospitalized following a a volleyball match on Friday night against UTEP.

It is reported that Dagenais was experienced chest pains several times durgin the match. An EKG performed showed an abnormality, prompting the hospital stay.

“As a precaution, our medical staff wanted me to get checked out,” Dagenais said Saturday morning, noting he had a similar incident two years ago.

“In the meantime, (assistant head coach) Michelle Chatman will assume leadership of the team in my absence,” Dagenais said. “Michelle will serve as acting head coach (Sunday) versus Tulane.”
