The United States Tennis Association announced that UCF’s club tennis team will be among 48 co-ed intramural club tennis teams to contest in the USTA’s ‘Tennis On Campus Fall Invitational’ tournament.
UCF placed in the gold bracket for the event and made quick work of Ohio State University and College of William Mary, defeating both 24-16 and 26-16, respectively, at the Palmetto Dunes Tennis Center in Hilton Head, South Carolina.
The winner and runner-up from the season-opening tournament earn a chance at competing for the national title at the 2016 USTA Tennis On Campus National Championship in Cary, North Carolina, April 14-16, 2016.
The tournament ends Oct. 11 and fans can support the Knights through the USTA’s twitter @tennisoncampus.
Stay tuned for Saturday night’s semi-finals against Boston College.
Saturday night’s semi-final matchup would see UCF go 23-26 against Boston College, falling short in mixed doubles. The Knights will be returning 2-1 in the 2015 fall invitational.
