BREAKING: Kilbride and Lochrane Win

4,834 (51.32%) voted for Kilbride/Lochrane
4,584 (48.66%) voted for Seeff/Wolkenfeld
Decided by 250 votes!
Amendment 1: Do you support amending the UCF Student Body Constitution to allow the Vice President for Student Development and Enrollment Services, a university staff person, to assign a temporary designee to sign or veto SGA Senate legislation?
5,950 (74.43%) voted “Yes, I support this amendment.”
2,044 (25.57%) voted “No, I do not support this amendment.”
Amendment 2: Do you support amending the UCF Student Body Constitution to rename “Student Government” to “Student Government Association”?
7,225 (89.24%) voted “Yes, I support this amendment.”
871 (10.76%) voted “No, I do not support this amendment.”

That’s a little harsh. Election aside, the reporting and breaking news on a regular basis is great and awesome to have. And I’m kind of tired of seeing a rivalry between this and CFF. They both have their respective places in covering news and different stories. And while I read this when I am online, I also always pick up a CFF copy.

@Morgan Peters lol Well, I didn’t really ask where they found them… more like who they are and why they just slapped a photo behind what looks like a template with no regard to it’s placement. As a designer, these things bother me – especially with the bias they’ve been presenting throughout the entire election. Just called attention to something I noticed – it’s not important obviously, because there are much more important things in the world going on than the creation of a graphic, but at the time I noticed it I thought it was kind of rude, so I made a comment. Then someone called me an ugly bitch for making the comment lol.. and I laughed. The end.
Way to stick it to the man! KnightNews just go in a hole and never come out. please

I’ve known and worked with Kilbride for two years. And yes, it is my opinion that he can be abrasive and arrogant at times – I don’t dislike him, but he’s not someone I would see socially.
But I will tell you that I respect his achievements, value his opinion and trust his judgment more than absolutely any student at this university.
Likeability is a desired characteristic of an SGA President, to be sure, but there are many far more necessary traits. I’ll choose an honest, intelligent, professional, qualified, and competent President over some supposedly likeable token moron every time – and as we saw today, so will the students.
Brock should still be impeached from UCF.

No matter who you voted for, I think the real tragedy is that of the 53,000 students at UCF, only 9,000 voted. To think that it came down to a difference of 250 is quite amazing.

You ran the worst excuse for an SGA campaign I’ve ever seen – your candidates were laughably unqualified, your platform impossible/irrelevant/poorly researched, and your tactics absolutely dispicable.

Politics aside, who is your graphic designer? I know you guys probably aren’t happy the Kilbride/Lochrane Ticket won – but you could have at least done a better job at throwing that header graphic together. You can’t see half of Taylor’s face or Kilbrides forehead. Personally, I think it seems a little disrespectful – was this on purpose?
I’m sure this will be followed by comments like, “no one wants to see Kilbride’s face anyway” – but you know what? that just makes you look immature and juvenile, so don’t bother. I’m just asking a question.

If you want to THROW IN another candidate next year… make sure their supporters at least have a slight idea as to why the hell they are out there in the first place.
Also, make sure their supporters are actually supporters and not hazing victims.
I cant count how many time I spoke with Daniel and Kevin “supporters” and how much they count down on their own candidates. Even saying stuff like ehhh Daniel is my brother, but neither are qualified especially Kevin.
That really sold me for their support lol Such a joke… a convincing joke to some though… obviously. So good job, but good prevailed.

Honestly, I don’t think 300 votes is that bad – I’d like to see Daniel and Kevin try to scrounge up 301 extra to take the lead – It’d definitely make for a good laugh. Kilbride and Lochrane reached out to 300 more people than Daniel and Kevin did – slim margin or not, 300 definitely isn’t close to say 5 or 10, or 50, or even 100. Daniel and Kevin lost to the better ticket. Too bad, so sad.
Can’t wait to see who Knight News tries to throw in the ring next year, if they make it that long….
