UCF sophomore and All-American sprinter Octavius Freeman was named the Conference USA Track and Field athlete of the year for the second straight year on Thursday.
Freeman has a long history as a superstar sprinter, placing second nationally in the 100M sprint and holds school records in the 60M, 100M, and 200M sprints. Freeman also took home two gold medals (100m/4x100m) and a silver medal (200m) at the C-USA Championships. She will be representing the United States at the upcoming World University games.
Her honors marks the third straight year that a UCF Knight was recognized as a C-USA Track athlete of the year.
